“Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.  Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions.” Mark 11:24-25 NASB

There is no person or any situation in your life worth trading for God.  When someone does you wrong, or something bad happens, no matter what it is, when you get into unforgiveness, it kills the blessing.  You are then saying that person or that situation is more valuable than God.

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 NASB

Look back at Mark 11; it says when you stand praying, forgive.  So, If God is faithful and just to forgive us for our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness, then some of you reading this need to believe and receive your forgiveness by faith.  Maybe you have made mistakes; maybe you have sinned, but if God was faithful to forgive you, then accept it.  Some of you are wrapped in fear, in bondage in your mind or thinking, that you just need to step into faith and receive forgiveness.

I knew a Godly, successful man that had an incurable disease.  He had a secret.  He died, and his wife left the church saying, this faith stuff must not be real because my husband was the godliest man I know.  A few months after he died, she found a letter he had written to her.  It said that when he was in the military shortly after they had gotten married, he had an affair, and the lady had gotten pregnant.  He paid for her to have an abortion, and he could never forgive himself for it.  All this happened before he was saved. He told her that he knew that his lack of forgiveness with himself had kept him from building his faith to get his healing. There is not a person or situation that is worth your relationship with God.  The Bible says He is faithful and just to forgive, so believe and receive your forgiveness.

“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.  He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you.  All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you.” John 16:13-15 NASB

The problem with most people is that they are always verbalizing their thoughts, and they never listen to Him, the Holy Spirit.  Have you ever met people that are always talking or thinking?   They have no control over their mind, and they never listen at all.  The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth.  You need time to sit, be alone in complete quiet, and just listen.  Don’t be so busy that you never hear from God.  If you are going to be a Spirit-led person, you have to get control of your thought life.

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.  We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 NASB

The word speculations in Greek means imaginations and thoughts.  You have to take control of your thoughts.  It is your job to pray, believe, and receive.  Make sure you are not walking in unforgiveness, that you are tithing, or not taking communion wrongly.  All the little things that come along as prerequisites.  It is only your job to make sure those things are handled.  It is not your job to make it happen.  If you are frustrated with your job, marriage, or children, it is because you are trying to make something happen.  Frustration is with you.  The Bible doesn’t say other people cast down vain imagination; it says you cast it down.  Spirit-Led people understand that they need to take every thought captive.

“For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.  Professing to be wise, they became fools.” Romans 1:21-22 NAS

This verse is talking about people who know of God, maybe proclaim to be a Christian but have a dark heart.  They see the sin of others but don’t see their own.  These people are on their way to hell.   Let’s look some more at 2 Corinthians,

“And we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.” 2 Corinthians 10:6 NASB

What is the disobedience here?  When you get your life straight, and you operate in obedience, He goes back and fixes it.  This is important when we get our lives into obedience, and we fix what we say, when we get our tithing right, and live our life appropriately, it says He goes back and fixes our disobedience.  Let me explain something, this is saying we as believers, we are ready to punish our acts of disobedience when our obedience is complete.  Many of you may be saying you spoke poverty, sickness, or disease for years, and you want to know how to go back and fix it.  It tells us right here we punish our words and actions that we did wrong by getting into obedience.  The best way to fix the mistakes you have made, whether it is a sin or speaking the wrong words, and to be led by the Spirit is to get into obedience.  When you walk in obedience, you correct the mistakes you have made in the past.

If what you are saying or believing goes against God’s Word, then you are against God’s Word.  If you are against God’s Word, then you are against God.

“Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalms 46:10 NASB

Another translation says, be still and know that I am God.  You are not going to be a Spirit-led person living in strife.  Strife doesn’t live where the leading of the Holy Spirit is.  Strife pushes the presence of God away.  Do you want to be angry at your wife, your children, your parents, then don’t be mad when something wrong happens because you allowed strife to come in.  Is it worth it to lose the leading of the Holy Spirit?  Understand that the Bible says you can be angry and not sin; there is a difference between righteous anger and strife.  When you are still and know the He is God, He will begin to move.

“So He said, ‘Go forth and stand on the mountain before the Lord.’  And behold, the Lord was passing by!  And a great and strong wind was rending the mountains and breaking in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind.  And after the wind an earthquake.  After the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of a gently blowing.  When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave.  And behold, a voice came to him and said, ‘What are you doing here, Elijah?’” 1 Kings 19:11-13 NASB

God wasn’t in the earthquake, God wasn’t in the wind, and He wasn’t in the fire, He was in the still small voice.  When you get in strife, you cannot hear the still small voice of God.  The devil wants to get you mad at anyone he can so you cannot hear the still small voice of God, then the devil wins.  He does not want you to be led by the Spirit of God.

I had an associate pastor one time in a counseling situation that I needed to give some Godly wisdom to in confidence.   He broke that confidence.  I had every right to be upset with him, and I ended up firing him for it.  About a year later, I was struggling with something in my life, and God showed me that I wasn’t walking in love with this person.  I had a right to be upset and a right to fire him, but I didn’t have the right to not walk in love and stay in strife over it.  A year later, it was still affecting my life.  I had to forgive that man, and I had no desire to forgive him, but if I wanted to continue to be led by God, I had to forgive.  I had to take control of my mind.

“For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything but faith working through love.” Galatians 5:6 NASB

Circumcision or uncircumcision means neither Jew nor Gentile.  Faith works by love.  When you learn to operate in love, you will have faith.  This means telling people the truth and not being fake.  Learn to be a person that walks in love with people.  If you are going to be led by the Spirit, you have to take your thoughts captive.  One of the ways to do this is to walk in love.  Because I am a believer, I am a staunch Christian conservative.  Pretty much everything Barak Obama believed in, I disagreed with as a Christian.  At first, I was so angry and was disgusted with him.  But I still loved him and prayed for him every day.
