I will tell you one thing that bothers me is stores that have self-check-out.  If I am not going to get a discount, then I am not going to check myself out.  I used to get mad about it, but now I think it’s funny and I just say no thanks, I have no desire to be an employee, but I’m not in strife over it anymore.  What a foolish thing to get angry about.  I used to get mad over that, what a dumb thing to get upset over!  It wasn’t worth it!  Faith works by love, not by being upset, in strife, or being short with people.

“Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12: 1-2 NASB

He is saying hey, lay aside your weights, your strife, Jesus went to the cross happy, you can too.  Lay it aside and get into faith.

“One who speaks in a tongue edifies himself; but one who prophesies edifies the church.” 1 Corinthians 14:4 NASB

When we speak in tongues, we edify ourselves.  Spend time in God’s Word and pray in tongues.  It edifies you; it makes you feel good.  How many of you have ever had a conversation with someone that has ever made you feel bad?  Learn to pray in tongues.  If you’re lonely, pray in tongues if you’re mad, pray in tongues.  Why?  Because it edifies you, it builds a wall up against that stuff.  Remember, we talked about how our thoughts and actions get corrected when we get into obedience?  Just pray in tongues, it will build you up.  Praying in tongues controls your thoughts.

“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.” John 16:13 NASB

The Holy Spirit operates on His will, not yours.  If you are a Spirit-led person, he desires to lead you, and He will.  He desires to guide you into all truth.  Whatever decision you need to make in your life, He will guide you into all truth.

“But the helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.” John 14:26. NASB

When you spend time in the Word and spend time praying in tongues, that is an investment into your spiritual bank.  So, when you need it, or you ask the Holy Spirit for direction, He said, I will bring back to remembrance those things.

“Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?” Hebrews 1:14 NASB

This is talking about angels.  Send them; they are waiting to be sent to work for you.  You have ministering spirits, and when the Spirit of God is leading you, you come into everything with an army.  You are not moved by fear; you have your thoughts under control; you are God inside minded.  No matter where you go or what you do, send angels ahead of you to prepare the way.  They are there for your use.

“Therefore, I will always be ready to remind you of these things, even though you already know them, and have been established in the truth which is present with you.” 2 Peter 1:12 NASB

This is like having your computer with you at all times.  Some of you would never think of going anywhere without your computer or smartphone.  Take the Holy Spirit with you.  The Bible says He remembers things and will remind you.  Some of you are already living a Spirit-led life, and I am not teaching you anything new.  But what I am doing is reinforcing what you already know because, just like Peter said, I am going to keep you in remembrance constantly.  When you go to church, there will be times you hear things you have never heard before, that should be happening, that means there is a revelation.  But there should also be times when you hear the same thing and say to yourself; I’m so glad he preached on that.  How many of you have had a good meal and want to have it over and over?  It’s the same principle.  If you eat and get fed on a scripture, why would you never go back to it especially if it could feed you again?

I heard a story one time about a guy who got lost at sea in his boat for over 80 days, and all he had to eat was peanut butter.  When they found him, they said to him, man, I bet you are sick of peanut butter.  He said, what do you mean, peanut butter sustained me!  The first thing he wanted when he was rescued was to eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.  When I heard him preach, he said peanut butter is one of his favorite foods because it saved his life.  When you get ahold of faith, you will never tire of hearing it preached.  If you are tired of it, then it means you don’t get it because when faith sustains you in every area of your life, you won’t be able to get enough of it.  Remember Romans 10:17 says that faith comes by hearing.  How are you going to build faith if you do not hear it talked about?  Faith comes by hearing, and by hearing the Word of God.  Spirit-led people have bad days, but they know when to get control of their thoughts and get back into obedience.
